Every McMinemanins seems to have different happy hour specials. Food is always good, with polite quick staff as well.

2 and a half. The food was good, normal quality you would expect for mcmenamins but there were flies everywhere. My dinner guest had to place a drink coaster over her glass of wine after every sip because they were fruit flies and attracted to it. Yuck! Potlatch salmon salad was delish but the flies, man.

I stopped in here hungry and ready for a quick, fulfilling lunch. I ordered the Cajun Mac and Cheese which is advertised as macaroni with a creamy Cajun cheese sauce which was $8.75 I think, and I added bacon for an extra $1 because I put that shit on everything! What I got was a sad plate, not bowl, of al dente macaroni inside a cheese soup with Cajun seasoning sprinkled on top...with a sad sprinkle of bacon bits which was comparable to maybe half a strip of bacon. I couldn't really tell the seasoning apart from the bacon bits, that's how skimpy it was. The plate was maybe 8 inches across and less than an inch deep. I almost added my own dash of tears as I considered crying drops of sadness right onto the plate as I knew I was going to dole out over $9 for this miserable dish. After finishing, I couldn't help but reminisce on my own memory of it being advertised as something completely different that what I received. So sad! The service was marginal if not forgettable. The décor and atmosphere is nice. Location is good. I left here feeling very underwhelmed and undernourished, so I will probably take my $9 Mac n' Cheese business somewhere that knows how to get it done in the future.

Strip Mall Location: Stopped in for a beer and a Passport stamp this weekend. Good service and everything seemed to be up to the typical McMenamins standards. Didn't spend much time there so not much more to report.

I have been here before with better results. This time was nearly a full hour wait. Probably not necessarily the fault of the staff as they may have been short handed. The food was okay. The ambience is good. If you are there to converse over a few brews, I would recommend it for that-- the beer is good too.

Love this place! The drinks are just strong enough, the staff is friendly and the food is great! I usually get this excellent cajun bowl and it is so good I will have to go back again soon. I've never been to see the live music but even without it, it's worth the visit.

Cozy and quaint. The service was friendly/professional, but a little on the slow side. Beer was on-par for all other McMs locations. Food was prepared as requested and arrived hot. Would go again if in the area.

I've been here for an hour and I've gotten one beer and no food. Probably a management issue not a server issue, as is usually the case. Check please. Oh and most if their beers suck, but I knew that going in.

One of thee worst restaurant experience. Wait to be seated, waiter has no patience or care about his service towards us. Cocktails tasted like there was no alcohol in it. Wilbur burger was overcooked and slathered in mayonnaise, the clam chowder was watery bland as anything we've ever tried. I have enjoyed most all experiences in the Mcminnimans of Oregon, but this experience goes down as one of the all time worst restaurant visits.

Went here once, nothing special. Other locations are much better! Nothing looked that amazing on the menu and service was slow.

Hang out on the backside in the sun with a cold beverage!

Service here was as bad as I've ever seen at a McMenamins (which is all to often questionable to begin with). Sat down at the bar in a mostly empty restaurant with 3 wait staff working. Bartender didn't get to us for about 5 minutes. We ordered a beer, a water for the prego wife, and a slice of cake to split. The beer came a few minutes later, but it took at least 15 minutes for the slice if cake. The cake, while good, was incredibly thinly sliced for $6.50 a slice. Not impressed about anything here.

I went in today for lunch, after leaving 3 other restaurants in West Linn, so I was not in a good mood. The food and atmosphere were standard MeMenimen's fare, but my server was outstanding! She checked back with me several times, and when I asked for a side of dressing for my sandwich, she brought it immediately. She was reasonably busy too. The owners should be proud of this server. I didn't catch her name, sorry!

Had a great lunch today. Server was Adam. Prompt service, efficient and Adam took good care of us. Standard McMenamin's fare. Tots rule.

All McMenamins are not created equal. Not even close. My rule of thumb with their properties is to start with a three rating (since the food and service don't seem to vary much) and then grade up or down for atmosphere. Chances are, if you've heard a rave about McMenamins, people are talking about Kennedy School, Edgefield or one of the other properties where they've converted a historic building and/or have unique amenities (movie theater, golf course, hotel, spa, etc.). If you aren't from the area and stumble into one of their neighborhood pubs, I imagine there must be some disappointment and puzzlement about why someone would recommend you go there. A decade ago, the brew pubs were pretty cool, but they have a lot more competition these days and McMenamins' casual pubs really haven't changed. My family still likes their burgers, fries and beer, and they have a decent happy hour, but that's about it. This location is in a strip mall and the outdoor patio overlooks the freeway entrance. There is really no way I can recommend this place over other local restaurants and it isn't in the same league as many other McMenamins properties.

This McMenamin's location isn't a historical site restoration or anything like that but it still has a warm and welcoming vibe. The service was fantastic, probably the best thing about this experience. The female server with dreads was friendly, down-to-earth and attentive. I ordered the classic reuben sandwich with side salad and the wife had the 19th hole turkey sandwich also with a side salad. My wife loved her meal. We split some cajun tots, pretty routine, which never disappoint. My reuben was tasty but only had a couple slices of corned beef and it was kind of tough/chewy. The salads, of all things, were AMAZINGLY fresh and delicious. My wife had a hard cider, a reliable staple, and I had a Purple Haze and a Ruby. Ruby was so-so while the Purp was notably better. The interior is much better than the patio area which bookends you with the stuccoed wall of a hardware store, so much for ambiance. Although this location is one of their smaller venues the service makes it a pleasant experience.

Consistent good food. Nice variety, Smoked Mozz Mac and Cheese, a Gyro and a Burger. Large fry to share and a Ruby. Great flavors in a casual atmosphere. We'll be back.

Patty melt with tots was good enough. They get an extra star for the Ruby Ale.

Prompt service, friendly/knowledgable staff, good food, are all things YOU WILL NOT find here. Everyone knows not to expect much from the chain that relishes in notoriously shitty service but this hole sets the bar at a new low. I'm going to burn my McMenamins passport in their fire pit while I throw Cajun tots at the poor excuse of a manager who apparently missed the class on customer service (that is if it's even offered for their employees). If you like paying to get punched in the groin, then this is the place for you! ***LONG OVER UPDATE*** The regional manager got a hold of me personally, shortly after I posted this review. He wanted to know more about the visit that prompted my tirade. He was receptive & responsive. Gained a lot of points with me. Have been back a few times to test the waters and it seems things are changing for the better.

All Mcmenmamins are the same in the fact that all have great beer, great food and cool waitstaff . I have never had a bad beer or a bad meal at any of them . Some of the places are cooler than others but they are all cool. The spinach artichoke dip is freaking awesome! Just get two , you will thank me later!

Wow, I've been to several of their restaurants but was really disappointed. Won't return to this location.

So this is a McMenamins like most every other McMenamins. Same selection of beers, typical menu (although a bit more limited than some of their larger establishments) and is located conveniently off the 205 freeway in a shopping mall next to Five Guys Burgers. I've always had excellent service here and the beer is up to snuff. No complaints, but nothing really makes it stand out from anywhere else. A lot of the McMenamins allure is their reuse of old buildings and locations, but this location is a bit confusing. In fact, it confused me until I got a chance to speak with the owner. The McMenamins Pub here is a stand alone building, and was in place before the strip mall encroached around it. So when you walk in, it's not like a storefront, it has the usual McMenamins wood booths, dark, English pub-like atmosphere, and all that stuff. Unfortunately, with where it's at, it's hard to tell that the place has a character of its own. The food is average, though, and nothing to really write home about, but that's about par for all the McMenamins I ever frequent. My usual reason for going to McMenamins is for the beer, which is always very good.

Wow, I can't believe I just ate the worst Fish & Chips in USA (NO STAR FROM ME)!!!! I can't believe this McMe is still survive in this economy! I guess they are supporting by other McMes. BUT, my waiter was cute, nice, friendly & provided great service. I love the atmosphere, interior & decorations! SO, do come here but don't eat the food, just drink and hang out with your buddies. :)

It was a Wednesday night and the place was packed! I don't think the crowd was expected, so they seemed to be understaffed. Despite having too many tables to take care of, the servers were very friendly and efficient, as well as apologetic for our wait. We went there for Cajun tots, burgers, and side salads and we weren't disappointed. Also, the side salad is really excellent. I think it's the pickled red onions that makes it. I usually order a side salad just because it feels like the right thing to do, but at McMenamin's I've gotta have it! It's great with any dressing, but with ranch it's especially delicious.

Typical McMenamins location, with typical faire. The only highlight would be the Purple Haze brew. A fantastic ale reminiscent of a hefeweizen but with the finish of a shandy. I believe it is brewed with boysen berries for its tart sweet finish. If your enrolled in the passport program, a stamp and a beer is all you need.

I'm going with 3 stars, but, that's being generous, limited menu, server.... About as friendly as a chair. WTF.... I don't get it! I was looking forward to trying McM's..... Almost left and went next door to. 5 guys!! Sorry....

It's just OK here. Been many times and service is terrible, food is good and the ambience is blah for a McMenamins. I love the chain so I will probably go back but it won't be for anything but the food.

This is probably the worst restaurant between the Canadian Yukon and Patagonia. I get that West Linn is a wasteland when it comes to decent food but the service here is just fucking terrible. Everyone here should be fired. There is no excuse for the crap they pull. The lack of a bartender at 6pm on a Friday night shows that they either don't have a GM or that person is the biggest idiot on earth. The food isn't good enough for the staff to behave the way they do here. ' This place should be burned to the ground and the employees should be beaten. Terrible. Just terrible.

So many haters of Mcmenamins! I've had nothing but decent to great experiences at most of their locations. Since this one is right down the hill from my house, we eat there on average once a month. Only complaint is their overpriced, skimpy drinks (even wine!) so we usually try to eat there and drink elsewhere. When my husband and I fight we order a Communication breakdown burger and make nice nice ;)

Staple of West Linn's food scene. Great fries during happy hour for $2 and I love the loose leaf tea!

Not as good as the Oregon City location. Bacon on my burger was almost raw and even though I specified well done on my burger, it was a lot closer to rare. Fries were just under hot enough as if they sat on the counter for a while and limp. I sat at the bar and after several minutes a waitress finally asked if I had been helped. I guess they don't have a bartender. Overall I think my 3 star rating might be a bit of a sttetch.

The service is ridiculously slow. It's Saturday- maybe staff accordingly? Also, the menu was disappointing and the prices much higher than other McMen's we've been to. With so many other pubs to choose from, we'll probably give thus one a pass in the future.

I have to agree with the other reviewers. I am not a huge McMinnemanimmmanins fan, but one thing that many of the other locations offer is a different kind of vibe and experience due to the choice of building, whether it is the Grand Lodge in Forest Grove, CPR in Hillsboro, or the Kennedy School. These places make going to a McMinnaminemanimmnins enjoyable due to atmosphere. This place is located in a strip mall off of exit 6 on I-205. What happens here is that they try to replicate the feel of the other buildings, but you still know that you are in a strip mall environment. The food is below average, the beer is OK. One thing that this place has going for it is that the service was surprisingly peppy and friendly. This is not the norm for this local chain. Both the server and the bartender were extremely friendly and helpful. This is probably why I give it 2 rather than 1 star. If you are in the area, I would continue driving either north or south on 205 to get food and beverage.

The service was bad and the food was worse. The fries were dried up and cold. And the waitress never bothered to fill our drinks waited 45 min for our dinner. Would not recommend. Stay away

I have been frequenting this place for quite a few lunches now, and so far I've had some great service and some very yummy lunches! Great job to the new manager! And word on the street says they're doing live music now! Yay! Maybe I'll play there soon. ;)

I'm a big fan of McMenamins. I love the history, the artwork, the buildings, everything. This McMenamins was not up to par. The service was extremely slow. The food was good, and our waiter was very nice, but I just can't see rating it higher than one star.
